At the Patchogue Church of Christ the Ladies’ Group Ministry’s goal is an evangelistic one:
-
The ladies serve Christ by strengthening, encouraging, and edifying each other, and by evangelizing in various other ways. For example: Hospitality, outreach, providing for the needy, mentoring, counseling, teaching, giving etc.
-
They meet monthly and engage in a variety of activities to achieve this goal. These include fellowships, luncheons, prayer meetings, Bible studies, crafts, work groups, Ladies’ Days, visiting nursing homes and many other activities.
-
They encourage small group meetings in homes, cafes, parks, the church building etc. where two or more ladies get together to pray, study, or just talk to build friendships among sisters.
Paul’s commendation of Phoebe is inspiring and motivating for the Ladies’ Ministry: Romans 16:1-2, “I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea…for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well.”
